USA StormChase 2011

Hey everyone,

Well only 5 days to go and I will be on a plane over to the United States to start what will be an adventure of a lifetime (I know it definately won’t be the last time) chasing storms and hopefully seeing some great picturesque Tornados in the open plains away from civilisation and awful destruction. This trip has been something I have been dreaming about ever since I was around 10 years old (after watching twister I’m sure)when I discovered my great interest for Severe Thunderstorms and ofcourse Tornados. So just thinknig about this and even wriiting this post I can feel my heart rate increase and the blood pumping.

I have had this trip booked now for around 5 months and I have to admit it only became real to me when I had to ring the Red Lion Hotel in Denver to book my first nights accomodation, which I did monday last week. Since then I have just been aching for the days to go past as quick as they possibly can. Once I am over in Denver I will be meeting up with the Crew of the Silver Lining Tours Group and we will commence our chasing on 12 June, possibly even the 11th weather pending.

During the duration of this trip I will hopefully be posting images and video to this site of the severe weather events we have come accross. I will be doing so through the ‘USA Stormchase 2011′ tab in this website. If I do not come accross Wi-Fi access while staying in the motels at night then I will have to wait to I’m back in Australia and rested befroe I start sorting through the Gigabytes of images and video before I start to post them up on this site.

Here is hoping I can get some great footage that captures the true chaos and beauty that mother nature has to offer us.

Signing off, but not for long,
Troy Barrett

Hello and Welcome

Hi everyone, welcome to my new weather website that aims to share all my weather experiences with all you other weather enthusiasts out there! I plan on uploading all of my favorite weather photographs that have been taken over the past 4 years, since I started amateur weather photography. I also plan from this day forward to document my storm chasing experiences that I go on (unfortunately down here in Canberra, A.C.T, we have been starved of any kind of interesting weather for the past 5 weeks). These reports will include a detailed written chase report along with plenty of images that I take along the way.

I hope that you enjoy this site and come back regularly to check out my new posts. I will aim to update this website often (please note the word ‘aim’, I will try my best to be a frequent as possible).
